This tag is fully useless IMO. We don't need it.
So... we have a help tag on Meta Ask Ubuntu (NOT the main site). IMO, it is useless. Let's go through the criteria to get rid of it:
Does it describe the contents of the questions to which it is applied? and is it unambiguous?
Certainly not. It provides zero info about the contents of the question.
Is the concept described even on-topic for the site?
Yes, but the entire purpose of AU Meta (and AU) is help with problems. So it literally gives no information, as it is implied when asking a question.
Does the tag add any meaningful information to the post?
Absolutely not.
Does it mean the same thing in all common contexts?
Sure, the OP wants help with something. But tags should describe the subject of a question or what it is about., not just what it contains.
Most of the questions can get retagged to support, but a few are discussion.
It's a fairly small tag, so if nobody objects, it's probably safe to go ahead and do it
help
on meta, I'm not sure the tag's actually been removed from meta before this discussion (so I'm not sure it's actually been recreated).help
tag on the main Ask Ubuntu site, not on this Meta. (I haven't found anything to suggest that the help tag has actually sprung up again after being burninated on this meta site...)
