Suggestion for "high-level-assembly" tag
My suspicion is that you might have a better chance with such questions on SO where there is some HLA action: stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/hla

AI-generated content is not permitted on Ask Ubuntu
@FranckDernoncourt A bit hard to judge whether the ban has had an effect in SO, the only real way would be to stop the ban and see if usage took off. And that would be a foolish gamble. And as for correctness of the AI generated answer: for the most part they do not actually answer the question, certainly the many, many cases I have dealt with on AU have this in common.

Well, we are not blindly banning AI content. We are actually, in a very focused way, trying to avoid anything like the tsunami of AI generated non-answers that is still afflicting Stack Overflow. I personally think that AI is a fantastic technology but its usage on Stack Exchange has always been very, very problematical.

how come answers and questions are banned without feedback
On looking at your history on AU I can see that 3 of your answers have been deleted without any information added as to why this occurred. The deletions were by a combination of elected and community moderators. In all 3 cases the answers were rightfully removed, IMHO, but I believe a shortcoming in these cases is that there was no explanation appended. And in this Ask Ubuntu should often do better...

Ban ChatGPT and AI-generated answers on Ask Ubuntu?
It would be best in the current climate to avoid the use of ChatGPT entirely on AU and I would include referencing ChatGPT itself in this. The wording of the announcement was intentionally broad to cover all usage: "As of February 2, 2023, there is a permanent and complete ban on the use of ChatGPT and AI generated content on Ask Ubuntu.". For reference: meta.askubuntu.com/q/20209/57576 Of course AU is not the only place struggling with this new technology: futureoflife.org/open-letter/pause-giant-ai-experiments Interesting times indeed :)

Is translating posts using Google Translate acceptable?
I guess that is a possibility but in the real world this has never happened on Ask Ubuntu for ChatGPT abuse. The Mod team has never gone further than a second suspension and even this was eventually withdrawn.

Just to clarify: it is not illegal to post such material on AU, it against a rule that has been put in place. A fine point but an important one. As well those who post such material on AU can receive simply a warning Mod email or alternatively a suspension from AU (with a varying time limit); there is no ban put in place as such.

My recent unanswered question needs a rewrite - should I leave old one, edit old one, or something else?
I see you have done a rewrite and added a bounty: great moves. I have undeleted an answer to your question (and converted to comment) which was really a 'I have the same issue...' answer; perhaps there may be some material to work on there...

Suggestions for revising the "on-topic" policy for programming questions
@Zanna and NotTheDroids: Are we there yet? :). Looks like 250 views and a fortnight on display and certainly the addition to the 'On-Topic' page looks pretty robust IMHO...

@NotTheDr01ds And perhaps also this: 'questions are better suited for Stack Overflow...' could become: 'questions are usually better suited for Stack Overflow...' for the same reason as above.

@NotTheDr01ds The smallest suggestion: Where you have ' may be closed here...' could you add emphasis / italics to make it: ' may be closed here...' I am keen to avoid a wholesale closing of all such questions and this might alert the keen close voter to think a little more :)
