I managed to get the size down to 132 KB through quantization but the artifacts are noticeable.

Never mind. I was able to pull a few tricks out of the bag to reduce the size of the file.

@Grace any word on this request? That would really help things out.

@Grace I'm afraid I posted this before seeing the new filesize requirements. Is there a way to temporarily disable this until I can fix it?

Does paste.ubuntu.com remove all old snippets?
If you do need something more permanent for a long dump of code... I humbly offer quickmediasolutions.com/pastebin (requires registration). But yeah, usually getting the information into the question is better.

I'm thinking of doing this again but with some of the other free games that are available. I'll post something later with an update.

Wait a second. "Absolute limit on file size of 40 KB" How on earth are we supposed to create a 600x500 (retina) PNG image that is less than 40 KB? Anything consisting of more than simple "cartoon" drawings will be impossible to reduce to that filesize. Can't we at least use JPG?

Is it OK to send a message to a spammer to not advertise?
tl;dr - don't feed the trolls. (Though I am sometimes guilty of this. If the spam is sufficiently bizarre, I have been known to post a sarcastic comment. But it is probably only seen by the remaining users who flag it, not the OP.)
