you mention a very good point. I haven't come across a discussion about sensitive data in Apport bug reporting, but I'm familiar with the warning in the Apport GUI. Do you, by chance, have a link to the discussion (and its possible resolution)?

Perhaps this should have the discussion tag replaced with bug and add the status-completed tag.

This makes me wonder how we could help users remove or avoid posting sensitive information that could be contained in a log file. (For example, what if the user didn't realize that a program had saved their current latitude & longitude into the log?) I'm always nervous about that sort of thing happening to me.

@Marco: Good job; the bigger version is easier to identify, though. Perhaps try rotating it so it runs diagonally? I might give it a try if I get the time.

I find it humorous that questions about Ubuntu on Super User or the Unix and Linux StackExchange site will likely not be forwarded to Ask Ubuntu since they'd probably be just as on-topic there.

BTW, I think the question Oli linked to on Stack Overflow is a good example of using a light-hearted approach without being noise. The core topic or issue is wanting to make it more bearable to the user when waiting for a program to load. So at its core, the question fulfills a useful purpose.
