I agree that version tags can't stand alone but I foresee a lot of "which version are you running" comments if they are dropped which clutter AU more than the tags.
Like Bernard said, you can't accept comments as answers. If it's your comment that didn't really contribute to the solution then simply delete it. If it's someone elses comment this might be helpfull.
