Only by chance I came across a merged question I had answered twice:

This is not really what we want. One answer may be better than the other, or worse, both answers are almost identical. We do have to merge or delete our multiple answers after questions had been merged.

We can see from other answers under this question that the merging process also led to a somewhat different weight of the question. At least one answerone answer was originally written from a developers point of view. This is now not really addressed by the question.

I know that merging always bears the risk of duplicate answers or answers becoming only marginally on topic. It therefore would be nice to at least get a notice that a question we had answered was merged to another question. Only then we will be able to edit our answers appropriately.

Can we get a notice that questions we answered were merged?
