Let's reopen this on-topic question about using Ubuntu software in Ubuntu
@EliahKagan So, yes, I think the question linked in the OP is on-topic - if it is about what I think it is ("I click on a link, but for some reason it doesn't get redirected to program X"). But the general "it runs on ubuntu so it is on-topic and we are to find a solution" is just not sufficient.

@EliahKagan Again: It's not "Every question has to be Ubuntu-specific." It's "Every question's core problem needs to be related to Ubuntu." Is the core problem of file compatibility related to Ubuntu? Yes, because we inherently use different file types than Windows. Is the core problem of how a RSS link opens in our Firefox related to Ubuntu? I assume so - because there is no such thing as a "default program" in the sense Windows uses it. But, for example: Is the core problem of how a website displays in Firefox related to Ubuntu? No, because Gecko results in the same across platforms.

@EliahKagan None of these is about an application, has the same answer platform-independently, and is due to the very nature of the application - as far as I can tell.

Who ever reads my custom message when rejecting an edit?
Then we'd probably end up with people who want to influence the reader to tag it as "read before". Or at least it's rather easy to do then.

That said, I fully agree, there definitely are repeat-offenders out there and I doubt it's "noone told them or they don't care". Needs to be placed more prominently.

@ObsessiveSSOℲ Probably so you aren't influenced by the comment. It makes no sense in practice, but that might be the idea behind it.

Forcing "leavers" to accept an answer
@RolandiXor-TheIceMan Oh, that is definitely true - but in that case I doubt we'd consider the question "abandoned" in the sense this post is about. I simply doubt we have that many old questions with great answers that don't have their answer accepted and still matter that much.

Forcing "leavers" to accept an answer
@WindowsEscapist And at that point, I don't feel the need to have an answer accepted anymore. The question is dusted, probably out of date, and most likely been asked again in the meantime. I'm going with not worth the hassle and too vague.
