Okay, I think we found it: The exact/quote syntax matches only full words: "extra dependency?" works, "xtra dependency?" and "extra dependency" fail.

Indeed. And apparently it does work ... sometimes (might be related to the change in search engine, though). Weeeeeeird.

Because the search does not use quotes.

"Besides that question is an offtopic bug report. :)" This applies to pretty much all "Why does this occur?" questions. The answer is either "Your fault." or "It's a bug." - I doubt that's in line with our Q&A format.

@BrunoPereira This isn't a feature-request and I don't recall that we have policy about this.

You can't discuss the bounty, you can't edit the remark to globally indicate a change, it remains in the history only, once done and it can't be detailed beforehand (especially nice if you don't want to waste a large bounty without a pre-existing answer)."

@gertvdijk Assuming you receive an answer for a running bounty. The answer lacks something important you would also like to see. How would you inform other posters (the answer can be commented) that this is another important point?
