I started out with Slackware, around '96. That was in the time when getting X to work could potentially set your monitor on fire (by setting horizontal or vertical refresh rate above what your monitor could handle - as if everybody knew those values). Linux has come a long way ;)

I mostly use terminal and cli programs.
