Thank you for your answer! Since Linux Mint uses ubuntu repositories for a large fraction of its packages, It is very similar to other derivatives of Ubuntu and that is why I asked this question. But I like your answer regarding mutual respect between Ubuntu and <Derivative> communities. Thank you for linking me to the original question. p.s.
