@pattivacek The circumstances have changed a lot since then, though. This topic is now covered as part of the Code of Conduct since 2019. So using the correct pronouns is a no-brainer. It just boils down to if we should be accepting edits to old posts.
As a user of Ask Ubuntu, you don't have to follow Ubuntu's Code of Conduct. You only need to follow SE's Code of Conduct. A lot of Ubuntu users don't even know about Ubuntu's Code of Conduct. So I'm not sure if we can have a policy about this and if It would make it less welcoming to new users.
I just want to justify my downvote on this. I don't think this is relevant in a moderator election as moderators don't have "the power" to decide on policies. It's the community that does. If this question is to check how moderators would handle disputes, I would ask it in a more general/canonical manner instead of focusing on a single topic. As it is now, this question can create controversy with candidates who answer it IMO
Asking about ESM itself is on topic (ie. what is ESM? How does it work? Etc.) Asking about a release that reached its end of standard support and went into ESM is off topic
Btw this was a post from 2020, we did end up having a moderator election after that. I'm not sure if we need more moderators now. If I understood the process correctly, that's up to the current moderators to decide if they are overloaded and need more moderators help.
I don't personally have any preference, and I'm willing to do whatever the community decides. But I would at least argue that translations of answers are usually more "risky" than questions. If we find it okay to translate questions then translating answers should be reviewed separately.
