I've worked in IT for over 40 years (since 1980) starting when I was doing research at university and got the role of Computer Manager in the Physics department. I've been an IT Manager for a large part of my career, but in recent years have done more software development (SQLserver, C#, VB.Net, MVC, ASP, etc) than IT administration. I've also been a Project Manager (Prince 2), a software development manager and now mostly support both users and developers of assorted in-house and 3rd-aprty web and mobile applications.
Most of my professional work has been with Microsoft operating systems but I've kept up an interest in Linux throughout.
At home, in addition to a couple of Windows laptops, I currently run a home server running Debian Linux with over 24Tb of disks mostly configured as a ZFS RAIDZ2 array as well as several Raspberry Pi boards which I started using for electronics, but now also use to run the 3D printers I got when I found I needed to create some custom boxes! I never got to print the boxes but have loads on other 3D prints!
Married, with several cats, but no kids!
