How should we celebrate 10 years of Ask Ubuntu?
Don't worry about it, even I am not convinced it is a good idea and the logistics of putting it together would be a nightmare. I was really just thinking out loud.

Yeah, I get that, it wasn't a great idea.

I think it is a good idea to do something. The issue is, what can we do within the constrains of the site? Perhaps some kind of meta post detailing significant events in the life of Ask Ubuntu? I don't know, would people even be interested to read some thing like that?

Feature improvement for flags history
This is a solid idea, however it might go mostly unnoticed on this little meta and I don't think individual sites have that kind of control over that page. I encourage you to check out meta Stack Exchange and consider posting there so more people see it. It is up to you, MSE can be a bit rough compared to Ask Ubuntu and your post is certainly not off topic here. meta.stackexchange.com/questions meta.stackexchange.com/help/on-topic

Good link for "how-to" ask questions in Ubuntu Forums
@Charles "or perhaps I should ask it in Ubuntu Forums? I'm not a 100% sure about the differences" See: meta.askubuntu.com/questions/1351/…

Fair enough but better to just browse to the help and get the full link. I changed my vote.

Why did you format your links like that? You need to add the actual URL, not just write $SITEURL$. That does not work on SE at all and there is no meta.askubuntu help page, it is just on main, so even if it worked it would still fail because the links don't exist.

Requesting some eyes on this Closed thread
"There was no reason posted by any of those voting to flag it as off-topic." Except the big blue banner with an explanation once the question is closed. Since you added so much text to this post, it is unreadable. There is a question, followed by two responses, followed by another question and a rant of some kind? I don't know, plus, your title contradicts that this is not about a specific question. It would be better to summarize your question in a concise way and respond to answers in the comments (people don't even know you added that to the question). -1 this is needs more focus.

The annual Stack Overflow survey
@AaronStone If you love badges, don't forget, Meta has its own set of badges separate from the main site, so you can collect them here too, just check your profile.

Am I the only one who feels like this?
"If you like this idea or feel the same way, upvote and drop a comment/answer. If you feel otherwise, please comment/answer on why." Why not leave a downvote if you don't like? Poor downvotes never get any love :P Jokes aside, yes Ask Ubuntu is one big game, it is designed that way to incentivise participation. There is a term for this kind of design: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamification

I see this too. This is related to the activity's tab in profiles, I don't know the details, try it on my profile. Here is the MSE question for more info meta.stackexchange.com/questions/348987/…
