StackExchange Data Dump Viewer - A Desktop Tool for Viewing the StackExchange Data Dumps
Very good point! I never thought of that. I have two options: 1) include the images (create a script that parses the dump and retrieves them all) or 2) use a placeholder like @moberley has suggested. However, I'm not sure if (1) is even an option, when license and copyright are taken into consideration.

@Marco: I know about that. I am currently in the process of switching over the name - since @Jorge pointed that out :)

Are there any plans for localized Ask Ubuntu instances?
StackApplet is being translated, so that's a good thing.

That's an interesting thing to consider. I agree - it wouldn't make much sense to display questions specifically about something the user is not using.

Ideas for creative-commons dumps of this site.

Should answers have terminal or GUI instructions?
@Jorge: But they don't - there are plenty of scripts / utilities / tools that accomplish almost the same things as the identical command. Take
sudo
for instance. Ubuntu (and most other distros with Gnome) ships with gksudo
which provides a graphical tool that requests the root password.

Should answers have terminal or GUI instructions?
@trampster: It is the way it is - if people don't bother to learn terminal commands, they willingly sacrifice a great deal of control.

StackApplet - Monitor your reputation and get notified of comments. [v1.5 released]
@Marius: The version in Maverick is quite far behind, I'm afraid - recent improvements have fixed this issue.
