Can someone make clear rules about the "software-recommendation" tag?
This has been addressed a number of times. Ask Ubuntu has been around for over three years now, we don't come across a lot of new issues to be addressed ;)

How do I delete/abandon my question when it has answers?
Why not just post an answer with what you did that was totally different, mark it accepted and move on?

This is what we should be worring about, we are upvoting CRAP in Ask Ubuntu!
@vasa1 That's why I put quotes around anonymous, it makes it a dubious statement. While no one can see you upvotes, the system knows and does routine pattern behavior checks for various forms of cheating, rage voting, and sockpuppeting

Require registration to ask a Question
We limit the number of posts, both legitimate or otherwise. We have to take the good with the "bad". It's a cornerstone of the site by having a zero barrier of entry for anyone with a question.

Require registration to ask a Question
You're making it to be a problem, I'm saying if it is a problem, it's not a big one at all. Also, while emails are sent, none that indicate an update. By default that checkbox is unchecked which still lends to my original point. i.imgur.com/1Dn0kXB.png

Are we better off with a general "Unix & Linux" stackexchange site?
@haziz I think you're in the minority. Ask Ubuntu is one of the most popular Stack Exchange sites, doubt they would remove the branding.

@haziz This split happened almost 3 years ago, it's proven to be quite successful and productive.

What to do when a user deletes a famous question?
Famous Question is not always synonymous with "good question"
