Close voters: we have a Reason for that (EoL posts are not necessarily duplicates)
The thing with this, is that then it pollutes the corpus of the target duplicated with lots (and by that I mean crapton) post that are at best, loosely related. It's more efficient anyways to use eol reason, since we 1) already link it in the close reason and 2) these questions aren't useful signpost at all. Deleting them after the user knows that they have to upgrade is the best we can do.

Receiving unwanted Suggested Edits on answers posted years ago
Oh, look a way to discover which reviewers need a timeout from the review easily.

Is it worth the time and effort to reopen a question so that it can be closed for the right reason?
"the only target close reason that is worth a change IMHO is duplicate" and most of the time not even that, since a question that is unclear, off topic or opinion based, its duplicated is almost certainly unclear, off topic or opinion based too.

Can we merge many meta Q&As about "abandoned questions"?
"but a heavy-handed approach to these questions (blanket closing) is not the way to go" currently the system basically deletes them, without any user intervention, which makes that concern moot.

How do I deal with the plurality of "reinstall OS" answers?
@kerry no, it doesn't "fixes" anything... it just downloads and unpack/configure everything which has the effect of, well, setting brand new files with their correct dependencies, like new.

@DrEval no... that's the second most important directory which has all those special permissions (/etc/shadow) which are crippling (can't login/startup the system). The other are the s/bin ones. I've been able to recover a system just by enabling the root user in ~30 minutes.

@DrEval false. You can recover most of it with apt-get --reinstall How can I revert a chmod on the etc directory?

What is a Work in Progress Answer?
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy again, that's your interpretation of what the help center says, not what it actually is the rule on the site.

What is a Work in Progress Answer?
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy that's the thing... you are not expecting to "complete" the answer right now, nor in a foreseeable future. A WIP is where you have all the information but want to put a placeholder and a promise to complete it later. I don't like either of them. Either you comment to the OP asking if what you discovered can be replicated by them, or you ask a new question with all the information you have found.

An incomplete answer is not useful as it's not complete. The answerer has all the time in the world to post an answer when he's ready, nothing is forcing them to post an answer ASAP. In fact, answering non-active questions can be more useful, since everything needed to answer the question is more likely to be present after the first wave of activity. Also, read @muru link.
