I grew up in Hong Kong and studied in the UK. As a postdoc, I lived and work in Berlin and Grenoble. I have now returned to the UK for a permanent job.

I did my PhD in solid-state NMR of collagen-based extracellular matrices, and this is still a current interest.

My area of research means that I have to deal with topics from very diverse areas of science almost daily. I find this exciting and interesting, and I enjoy reading and discussing many different things.

I also have an interest in computing and find StackOverflow very helpful when I have programming problems. I have attended events such as OggCamp in the UK, HAR and OHM in the Netherlands, and CCC in Germany. I used to row and cycle.
