Recently, there have been [proposed](https://meta.askubuntu.com/questions/19543/policy-change-proposal-end-of-standard-support-for-esm-releases-is-effectivel) and [applied](https://meta.askubuntu.com/questions/19575/policy-clarifications-in-place-on-end-of-standard-support-and-end-of-life) changes regarding [“End of Standard Support” and “End of Life”](https://askubuntu.com/questions/1185962/end-of-standard-support-and-end-of-life). It is not clear, however, if this policy also applies to the official flavors.

For example:

- Ubuntu MATE 18.04 [has reached EOL](https://ubuntu-mate.community/t/ubuntu-mate-18-04-lts-reaches-end-of-life/23966).
- Xubuntu 18.04 [has reached EOL](https://xubuntu.org/release/18-04/).
- Lubuntu 18.04 [has reached EOL](https://lubuntu.me/bionic-eol/).
- Ubuntu Studio 18.04 [has reached EOL](https://ubuntustudio.org/2019/04/ubuntu-studio-18-04-extended-support/).
- Kubuntu 18.04 [has reached EOL](https://kubuntu.org/news/kubuntu-18-04-lts-bionic-beaver-reaches-end-of-kubuntu-support/).
- Ubuntu Kylin 18.04 has reached EOL (I couldn't find an announcement though).

While the main version of Ubuntu 18.04 (with GNOME) [has not yet reached](https://ubuntu.com/about/release-cycle) its “End of Standard Support” or “End of Life”, the flavors have.

I had a [conversation with Zanna](https://chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/58331019#58331019) in the Downboat about this matter, but it seems that there is confusion even among moderators about it.

So, are the EOL flavors considered off-topic in Ask Ubuntu after they reach their EOL or do we continue to support them for as long we support the main version?
