Having a sense of humor goes in the "better person, better moderator" category.

We are all people (with a few exceptions).

As long as it does not cross the borders of being rude or making someone upset over a subject go for it. But, if we are talking about areas of the site that are exposed to the public or might reflect the site's public image I say that is off limits. All the time you spend having fun on the site on areas where you should not means more time a moderator needs to clean those up, meaning that more time will have to be spent on trivial unnecessary actions.

But, anyone can instinctively feel when the fun factor is getting too much out of hand. In that case, I will try to curb the fun to make sure that it doesn't go beyond.
