I was surprised that the upgrade page for Ubuntu 12.04 guided users with questions to AskUbuntu rather than Ubuntuforums; presumably this upgrade page is from the official Canonical website.

Is AskUbuntu now the "official" support forum for Ubuntu and Canonical? I am aware of the link between AskUbuntu and Stack Exchange.

Is Ubuntuforums officially affiliated with or run by Canonical?
