Personally, I must say I definitely like users to have a more identifying name than "user126430826", which is in practice equivalent to having no name. Not because I am interested in their personal live in any way, not because I am interested in their opinions and not for socializing reasons, but to be able to distinguish someone and someone's activity *on this site*. No matter in which context, we keep being *persons*, and like to connect a person and his or her actions. At least, I know I do.

It should however be a free choice to choose a more defined name. Many people are just passing by to ask one or two questions and don't want to expose themselves in any way, not even by the style of their chosen name. We should keep that option available.
