I can't find a log out button after I created my Ubuntu Stack Exchange account.

  • Are you asking how to log out of Ask Ubuntu? Or some other Ubuntu website? (If you use the "Ubuntu One" single-sign-on provider for other Ubuntu-related sites, and you sign into that SSO to access Ask Ubuntu, then you might end up logged in to other sites also.) – Eliah Kagan Sep 2 '13 at 19:18

After the topbar redesign, the login link has moved to the Stack Exchange icon on the right side:

logout link

You can also just click this handy link to log out.

  • Thanks, this still works! would it be so hard to provide this link somewhere in the UI? – R B May 11 at 13:16

This answer is no longer accurate since the site has been redesigned. Please see here instead.

The log out button in under the StackExchange drop down at the top left of the page.

  • There is no dropdown list under the StackExchange logo when I am logged in to AskUbuntu. When I click on the StackExchange logo, I am invited to visit the StackExchange website. If I click on the provided link, it opens the StackExchange website, but I am not logged in there. – R B May 11 at 13:14
  • P.S. After logging out of AskUbuntu and logging back in again, the StackExchange page does show me as logged in. However, I still don't find a way to log out on either the AskUbuntu page or on the StackExchange page. I consider it to be good practivce to log out of everything when I am done, even on private computers. The best solution I have found was to use askubuntu.com/users/logout to log out, as recommended above. This apparently logs me out of all StackExchange sites. – R B just now – R B May 11 at 13:37

You must log in to answer this question.
