Is it normal that I can add any text in the "Favorite Tags" section, even something which isn't actually a tag? I can even add duplicate entries! Is this a bug, or will it work if I add "Hello World!" there as my favorite tag? And, if it will work, how exactly would it work? What kind of kind of Qs or As will this help me highlight?

  • Does it make a difference? If the tags don't exist, they make no difference to which questions get highlighted. – muru Oct 18 '17 at 11:09

The main problem is duplicated tags getting add. – αғsнιη Oct 18 '17 at 11:24
  • Does it cause the highlighting to double in intensity? :) – muru Oct 18 '17 at 11:25
  • No, because I have maybe around 20~30 tags I have added, now I see some tags that I want to add too but don't know if I had before or not. is not this a bit buggy, and its name is saying I'm tag how can I add any text as tag which doesn't exist yet – αғsнιη Oct 18 '17 at 11:28
  • Isn't this a good thing then? You can go ahead and add tags without worrying whether they're already in the list not (or if they even exist). I figured the devs didn't deem a check was necessary because a) most people wouldn't go around adding non-existent tags and b) even if they did, it wouldn't make a noticeable difference. Let's say a dev spends X hours implementing, testing and rolling out this check. What would be the benefit? – muru Oct 18 '17 at 11:35
