While this seems helpful for answering and asking questions, how does this help distinguish you as a good potential moderator?

I don't see a direct correlation between a user well-informed about the site's main topic, and a user moderating it - while a large amount of insight obviously helps in defining the border line between off- and on-topic.

Moderation is more closed related to how a teacher and students behave, how a leader works with his community or pack. If I had to say something related to that is that being a teacher at a pre-college and a degree on teaching can help a bit. Moderation is not about how much you know, is how you apply that information and the way you apply it to the community.

It doesn't have anything to do with me using Ubuntu for a couple of years. Though, however, prior good experience with the OS would give you a good idea of the value of posts in the site and determining if a post ought to stay or go.

I've not been here that long, but I want to step up and do more. I think that willingness, and the fact that I'm part of some of the other parts of SE, and can talk to them on good terms is what I have to offer.
