Dec 11, 2021 at 21:13 | comment | added | guiverc | In 2014-April at release; the life of the product was announced (fridge.ubuntu.com/2014/04/17/ubuntu-14-04-trusty-tahr-released). It ended as stated back at that time; the extended support however continued. The wiki table is an attempt to make it easier for users to view on a single page details that are fully laid out in release announcements, via ML & other forms (fridge just a formatted copy of ML posts). If there are flaw(s) in the ubuntu.com information go to the bottom and you can open a ticket (bug report) that will cause it's correction.
Dec 11, 2021 at 21:07 | comment | added | guiverc | Ubuntu 14.04 LTS lives through extended support as per fridge.ubuntu.com/2019/05/02/… It's standard support ended 25 April 2019, but for users who had enabled/implemented ESM it continued life as Ubuntu 14.04 ESM (ie. 14.04 continued life). The use of terms altered slightly after this release (ie. 16.04 LTS didn't EOL on in 2021, it was standard support that ended only). Releases in extended support are off-topic here. Usage has altered slightly. Read announcements/notices if you want facts.
