How to earn points foras an Ubuntu noob?

I've been a member of Ask Ubuntu for over 2.5 years, but because I'm always fighting with Ubuntu, I only ever have questions and never any answers. However, all questions I have are already asked. when

When I browse the questions I get overloaded with a 'what are all those terms'terms?' and 'how the heck should I know'know?' feelings. 

Because ifof this, I still don't even have enough reputation to downvote on an answer! What should I do?
