As with Eliah, I voted too broad on two of them:

  1. what would happen if I installed a Ubuntu with md5 hashes that are different fom the intended oneswhat would happen if I installed a Ubuntu with md5 hashes that are different fom the intended ones
  2. How does dpkg install a package? How does dpkg install a package?

In the first case, as my answer says, anything can happen. There many possible outcomes and the only way to find out is to actually do the installation. :/

In the second case, the dpkg manpage provides the sequence of steps it does, as I pointed out in a comment. Anything more would require considerable effort, perhaps even going over the code. I provided three links that I felt gave a reasonably complete answer, and didn't bother with a summary because there can be no reasonable summary as good as the aforementioned manpage. Since the OP is coming from the manpage (as it turned out, only after reading the first section), I took it as a reasonable assumption that OP had read the section that that line ("The descriptions of what dpkg does when installing and removing packages are particularly inadequate.") is talking of before rushing over to AU to ask this.

The too broad flag can be used when:

There are either too many possible answers, or good answers would be too long for this format.

The first question is an example of the first type, and the second of the second type.
