You will get more attention (for good or for worse) but there is no "need" to post anything on MSE vs your local meta. And of course they close dupes even if the master doesn't have an answer. How many duplicate feature requests or bug reports do we need? Otherwise, this is true. Ask Ubuntu is very laid back compared to the rest of the network :-)
