If a question has nothing to do with the tag, and by nothing I mean not even mentioned, should the tag be kept?
From this question - updates
Questions about updates. This is a very general tag. If you have a tag that's more specific (e.g. the package name that your question is about) please use that one.
not very great excerpt, I really don't know what kind of questions are expected to be tagged with this actually. Seems to hint that it should be used for questions about updating packages, but the tag itself ask to use more provide more specific one, adding up to the confusion, but since it has the apt tag and it's already answered, I went and removed it.

14.04 nvidia games & crash
Dunno you but, Nvidia has nothing to do with the fact that you have to log in repeatedly on Steam (hindsight 20/20). It isn't about "games" per se but a lets say the "game manager". I think nobody has problem with me removing crash, and since the problem is between Steam servers and Steam client (at least at first it was so) it has nothing to do with the version of Ubuntu. All in all, OP question is about Steam and just, well, Steam. BTW, I consider it a bug.

14.04 laptop battery toshiba-satellite
This one is funny, when I edited it it had no answers. After the edition, little more than 25 minutes after, it got an answer. I consider that I did an excellent job (*pats*). The answerer could find the question almost instantly after I edited it, so removing the tag was a good action, no?
From this - gnome-terminal
I would love this one tagged with shell, but since long ago shell doesn't mean shell, well. The thing is that it had answer before I edited it, so I asked myself is this question about gnome terminal? Not even hinted in the body of the question. FIRE IN THE HOLE!
And from this - openoffice.org & 12.04
This is the most spectacular one, and it's because it wasn't even my edit why I consider it such, but someone else':
removed 12.04 tag since issue isn't specific for 12.04 (to be precise, it's even not ubuntu-specific...)
I upvoted his answer. Not only because he provided the correct answer, but also improved the question. I need to meet this guy and give him a big man hug. sends virtual man hug meanwhile
Now, through I believe the code base of OO.o and LO didn't changed in this case (the answer should work for both), OP isn't talking about OpenOffice.org, so removed the tag and made the body more general.
So, if an user unknowingly or not use or add the wrongs tags, isn't the community task to correct them (I mean the tags, through if the user ask for guidance it's cool for me too, I'm all for teaching :D)? A titanic task of what I'm one of the most assiduous contributors since little more than a year (anyone wants to help, feel free to join :) ).
