I do like the idea of a blog and jumped out of my seat saying "YEAH! We should do this", but as I thought more about it aI came to the above conclusion.

To be honest I think Ubuntu Blogs have been done to death - it would be hard to compete with say http://omgubuntu.co.uk or http://webupd8.org and the non-stop action of http://planet.ubuntu.com/

Rather I think forming a partnership with the prominent Ubuntu blogs would be a better course of action. Helping to feed them content, have them start using StackTack, and other suck tools to make a symbiotic relationship.
