It seems that new users only seem to be posting 12.04 threads, even though the only version in support is Ubuntu 12.04 SERVER (or even that has expired), also even 15.10 is out, why did users switch backwards or whatever?

    Ubuntu 12.04 is supported until April 2017, both Desktop and Server version. People using Ubuntu 12.04 are probably satisfied with this version and see no reason to upgrade.

    Also 12.04 is an LTS. I'm personally happier sticking with an LTS release for stability.

1st off: Ubuntu 12.04.1 and 12.04.5 are still valid releases. April 2017 is the end of life date. I would assume 12.04 was just a very popular release.

But even then ... if you look at the 1st page with the tag 12.04 7 out of the 1st 10 might be related to a server installation. Of course it is a bit of guessing. I see these 10 as ...
